Project Management - It's NOT about the Lingo... it's about the results
This is not our typical project management training about three letter acronyms, twenty pages of flow charts, and documents that the IRS thinks are too vague and complicated. Instead this session is a mixture of real life examples, anecdotes and practical methods to bring focus to your efforts. Projects take up a larger share of our work lives, but we realize practice is not making perfect! This session is a check point to make sure we are achieving the goals of the project and keeping our team engaged in the process.
The basics - if you have 5 fingers on a hand I can teach you how to manage a successful project. Each finger represents a concept and how that concept is used to keep your project on track and successful.
1) Scope - no project without a good definition of what is to be achieved will ever achieve the desired outcome
2) Team - projects require teams and the more the team member understands their role and responsibilities, the faster you'll see results
3) Project planning - the power of Three Ten Three and how to start with the business case and build greater detail without losing the purpose
4) Working the project plan - types of meetings, documentation
5) Communications - project reports, how to run a meeting, issues management, change management
